The rules for using this site.
Plain, short terms that apply when you use the Home Electrical Helper published at srkelectriical.com by SRK Electrical Ltd. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please stop using the site.
1. What this site is
The Home Electrical Helper is a free, informational tool. It helps UK households prepare for an electrician's visit by generating written descriptions and checklists. It is not an emergency service, a dispatch platform, or a substitute for advice from a competent, registered electrician.
2. Emergencies come first
If you suspect fire, electric shock, or imminent danger to life, call 999. For power-cuts or damaged lines in the UK, call 105. Do not use this site to triage life-threatening situations.
3. No professional advice
The content on this site is provided for general guidance only. It does not constitute professional electrical, legal, or insurance advice. Always have electrical work inspected and carried out by a competent person registered under a UK Part P scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA).
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the site for unlawful purposes.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the site.
- Do not scrape the content for republication without written permission.
- Do not present generated text as if it were authored by a named electrician when it was not.
5. Your content
The text you type into the tools (symptoms, address, notes) stays on your device. If you choose to copy, print or email it, you are responsible for the content of the resulting message. You retain all rights in what you write.
6. Our content
All text, design, code and images on this site are owned by SRK Electrical Ltd or used with permission. You may view and print the content for personal, non-commercial use. Any other copying, republication or distribution requires our written consent.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the site available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may pause or change the site at any time for maintenance or legal reasons.
8. Credits, billing and refunds
Paid features use a prepaid credit system. $1 equals 100 credits. Credit packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Credits do not expire and are non-transferable. The price charged to your card is the USD amount shown at checkout; your bank may apply its own currency conversion and FX fee if you pay in another currency.
Digital-content waiver. Credits are digital content under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and EU Directive 2011/83/EU. Before you pay, you will tick an acknowledgement that the service is digital and that your statutory right to cancel ceases once you spend the first credit from a pack. You retain a full 14-day right to cancel any unused pack.
Our full refund, chargeback and dispute-resolution procedure is set out in our Refund & Disputes Policy. That policy is part of these Terms.
Chargebacks. If you raise a chargeback with your bank, we will respond to Stripe with activity records sufficient to demonstrate delivery (timestamped output logs, acknowledged checkout, support correspondence). Abusive chargebacks may result in account termination.
While Stripe checkout is being finalised, the Buy credits buttons only display a confirmation toast and do not charge your card. Your balance is not changed without your explicit consent.
9. Liability
We do not limit or exclude our liability where the law does not allow. Subject to that, we are not responsible for:
- Indirect or consequential losses.
- Loss of data, profit, or business opportunity.
- Damage arising from work carried out by any electrician you engage as a result of using the site.
Our total liability in connection with the site is limited to £100.
10. Third-party links
The site may link to external resources (for example the NICEIC or NAPIT registers). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
